Sam Gary established the Stapleton Redevelopment Foundation in 1990. Since then he has served as the lead advocate of his dream of a new community at Stapleton that could reduce the spread of urban sprawl and develop seamless connections to the airport’s neighborhoods.
Mr. Gary and his company at the time, Gary Williams Energy Corp., have contributed several million dollars to planning the redevelopment of the old airport. Mr, Gary has been in the oil business for over 50 years and in the past few years sold his successful business and now leads the Gary Community Investment Co. and the Piton Foundation and continues his generous philanthropic efforts of nearly 40 years for the Denver metro community.
